Special Photo: January 27, 2005 - USS San Francisco SSN 711 in dry dock at Apra Harbor, Guam. The USS San Francisco struck an uncharted undersea mountain on January 08, 2005 at flank speed while enroute to Australia. Sixty of 137 crewmembers were injured, one fatally. The USS San Francisco was able to surface and return to Guam for repairs under its own propulsion. U. S. Navy photo
